Student Councils That Work!

The maiden meeting of our “Student Councils That Work” Working Group has been a huge success! An amazing 23 people signed up for the Working Group, and we’re extremely excited to work with every single one of them in the coming weeks.

Our President, Cormac, and Vice-President Niamh were also in attendance tonight to witness the launch of this new and exciting opportunity for young people. After some introductions, the group dived right into the material, and went into breakout rooms to discuss the efficiency of the existing model of student councils in schools. After regrouping and having an hour of further discussions, the call, led by our Education Officer James, ended with all the participants safe in the knowledge that they were going to make a real difference as part of this group!

A visit from our distinguished board member Prof. Laura Lundy - an expert in youth participation and student voice - is on the cards for the next meeting!
