Mental Health Matters Working Group

After the success of our newly launched “Student Councils That Work!” Working Group, the SSUNI has launched a second Working Group - Mental Health Matters.

The group will look at mental health reform in schools, including funding, accessibility, and efficiency of mental health services within schools. The Working Group launched tonight with 16 students taking part. After some introductions, the group started on what would be the first of many important discussions about the mental health of young people, and the mental health of young people within school environments.

The group also elected their Chair, Lucy Brennan, and joint deputy-chairs, Rachel Blair and Emily Maisie. All three, aswell as the whole group, are committed to improving mental health services in schools - something that needs done urgently!
